the c-change trust - news

Thanks to your continuing donations we’ve been working hard on developing our Carbon Busters climate change education project. We have expanded our team this month by taking on the part time help of Laura Griffin - an experienced teacher, youth worker and qualified energy consultant.
The Carbon Busters project is due for release later this year for selected schools in the Bristol area as well as one school in London.
Carbon Busters is designed to support each school to attain a prestigious ‘Green Flag’ from the governments Eco-Schools accreditation scheme.
Using externally funded teachers we will run our year-long, term by term intensive eco-drive, creating green teams who complete a series of energy saving tasks within the school that will for example save energy and therefore emissions - this is just one of the activities which schools have to complete in order to qualify for their Eco School flags.
The Green Flag demonstrates that measurable carbon reductions have taken place and that an infrastructure is in place to ensure future decisions on school energy policy are viewed in terms of efficient energy use and sustainability
